Dear student,
Primary Sector: Agriculture is the most labour absorbing sector of an economy. In recent years, there has been a declination in the dependence of population on agriculture partly because of disguised unemployment. Some of the surplus labour in agriculture has moved to either the secondary or the tertiary sector or both.
Secondary Sector: Small-scale manufacturing is the most labour absorbing segment. The secondary sector share has increased in last 30 years to around 16 percent.
Tertiary Sector: A number of services are now appearing like biotechnology, information technology, media and so on. Around 25 percent of the people are employed in tertiary sector.
Regards.
