Hill reaction
The Hill reaction is a phenomena in which the hydrogen ion of water reduces a final electron acceptor in presence of light. The physiological electron acceptor in living system is NADP+ that gets reduced to NADPH.
Robin Hill, in his experiment to show this, had used non-physiological reagents known as ‘Hill reagents’ such as ferricyanide. Ferricyanide gets reduced by the hydrogen produced from the photolysis of water.
