Hockey ball of mass 200 gram travelling at 10 M per second is struck by a hockey stick so as to return it along its original path with a velocity of 5 M per second . Calculate the change of momentum occured in the motion of the hockey Ball by the force applied by the hockey stick.

Mass of ball =200g=0.2kg
Initial velocity =10 m/s
Initial momentum =mv=0.2×10=2 kg m/s
Mass of ball =200g=0.2kg
Final velocity = -5m/s
Final momentum =0.2×-5=-1 kg m/s
Change in momentum=final momentum - inital momentum
=-1 kg m/s - 2kg m/s =3 kg m/s
