The correct option is C 3 N
It is given that static friction acting on the box is zero, and it is at rest.

So, the sum of all the forces acting on the box must be zero in the horizontal direction i.e. the sum of the forces acting towards right is equal to the sum of the forces acting towards left.

Horizontal force balance:


Applied force towards right = Applied force towards left
P + 2 N = 5 N
P = 3 N
