Hormone connected with increased rate of glucogenesis, blood pressure and heart beat is adrenaline hormone. It is released from adrenal medulla which is the internal or inner part of the adrenal gland. It releases two hormones called epinephrine and norepinephrine. The epinephrine is also called adrenaline. These two hormones are commonly called catecholamines. Epinephrine is released during stress of any kind or emergency situations and is therefore called as emergency hormone and adrenal gland is called emergency gland. It also prepare the body during the fright, fight hence also called as 3F or fight, fight hormones. These have effects on different organs of the body. It increases the heart beat, the strength of heart contraction and the rate of respiration. It increases the sweating, piloereaction (raising of hair), alertness and pupilary dilation. It also stimulates the breakdown of glycogen resulting in an increased concentration of glucose in blood. It also stimulates the breakdown of lipids and proteins.
