Hormone secreted during emergency is adrenaline. It is released from adrenal medulla which is the internal or inner part of the adrenal gland. Adrenaline is also called epinephrine. It is released during stress of any kind or emergency situations and is therefore called as emergency hormone and adrenal gland is called emergency gland. It also prepare the body during the fright, fight hence also called as 3F or fight, fight hormones. Adrenaline have effects on different organs of the body. It increases the heart beat, the strength of heart contraction and the rate of respiration. It increases the sweating, piloereaction (raising of hair), alertness and pupilary dilation. It also stimulates the breakdown of glycogen resulting in an increased concentration of glucose in blood. It also stimulates the breakdown of lipids and proteins.
