Pituitary gland is divided into anterior pituitary and posterior pituitary which are embryological different. They also secrete different hormones. Anterior pituitary secretes – prolactin, growth hormone, thyroid – simulating hormone (TSH); adrenocorticotrophic hormone (ACTH), luteinizing hormone (LH), follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and b – lipotrophic hormone (b – LPH).
