Solution: Hypothalamic hormones, are released from the median eminence, a prolongation of the hypothalamus, into the hypophyseal portal system. It carries them to the anterior pituitary where they exert their regulatory functions. They stimulate or inhibit the release and synthesis of the anterior lobe hormones. They are better referred to as regulatory hormones than as releasing hormones.
