Solution

The correct option is B 6 km

The three houses are on the same side of the street and in same order.

The distance between the houses A and C, which are at the ends is obtained by adding the distances between A and B, and B and C.

i.e., 3.5 km+2.5 km
=(3 km+0.5 km)+(2 km+0.5 km)
=3 km+2 km+0.5 km+0.5 km
=5 km+1 km
=6 km

The houses A and C are 6 kms apart.
