The correct option is B 6 km

The three houses are on the same side of the street and in same order.

$∴$ The distance between the houses A and C, which are at the ends is obtained by adding the distances between A and B, and B and C.

i.e., $3.5 km + 2.5 km$
$= (3 km + 0.5 km) + (2 km + 0.5 km)$
$= 3 km + 2 km + 0.5 km + 0.5 km$
$= 5 km + 1 km$
$= 6 km$

$∴$ The houses A and C are 6 kms apart.
