Dear student,
A healthy person gets infected by contact of hands with an infected person due to the encounter of the healthy person with a pathogen, with which the other person is infected.
A pathogen could be a bacteria or a virus or any other microorganism like fungi or protozoa, etc and each can cause diseases. These pathogens are transmitted through air, water or any carrier.
Carrier could be defined as any organism that harbours the pathogen and transmits it from infected to a healthy person. The carrier could be any insect or animal like mosquito, snail, rat, humans, etc.
Sometimes a person who is a carrier might not show any symptoms even after harbouring the disease. In such case the person is said to be an asymptomatic carrier.
Regards.
