In 1914, First world war was fought between two European alliances.
The first world war started due to a number of factors-
1. Militarism- Each country wanted to outnumber the other in terms of arms and ammunition.
2. There was scramble of economies.
3. Several small kingdom like the Balkans wanted to assert self rule as the Balkans.
