Question

How are bonds made between ions?

Open in App
Solution

Bonds between ions are formed by the electrostatic force of attraction between ions of opposite polarity.
A positive ion is formed when it transfers electrons to another atom which accepts the electrons and becomes negatively charged. These negative and positive ions are then bonded together by strong electrostatic forces.
