Cancer:
- A disease in which some cells divide uncontrollably and destroy body tissues.
- These cells can spread from one part of the body to another.
The cancers are named based on various factors:
- Tissue of origin- Carcinoma, sarcoma, myeloma, leukemia, lymphoma.
- Pathological state of tumor tissue- Grade 1(slight abnormality in cells), Grade 2 (more abnormal cells), Grade 3 (poorly differentiated cells and very abnormal), Grade 4 (immature, primitive, and undifferentiated cells).
- Tumor progression stage- Node involvement (N), distant metastasis (M).
