  2. It helps in speeding up the reaction.

Enzymes are reusable because:

  1. In a reaction, the enzyme binds to the substrate and catalyzes the reaction. Once the reaction is completed, the enzyme is released and it remains unchanged, also it is available for another reaction.
  2. For example, lipases are a group of enzymes that helps in digesting fats in the gut, once all the fat gets digested then after some time that same enzyme is used again for digesting fat.
