How are halide ions formed in an aqueous solution of acid

Dear student

A halogen atom which has a negative charge is called a halide ion.
When an aqueous solution of an acid is taken like HCl, or HF, or HBr , then the following reaction takes place leading to formation of hydronium ion and halide ion.

HCl + H2O H3O+ + Cl-
HF +H2O H3O+ + F-
