Question

How are heat and kinetic energy related?

Open in App
Solution

Relation between Heat and kinetic energy

  • According to Kinetic molecular theory, kinetic energy is directly proportional to the temperature.
  • Thus, a rise in temperature will increase the kinetic energy. Heating any object will make the object particles move faster this will increase kinetic energy.

Thus, the relation between kinetic energy and heat is that the kinetic energy will also increase when the heat rises.
