How are heat and temperature of a substance related to each other? [2 MARKS]
Heat : 1 Mark
Temperature : 1 Mark
Heat is what drives motion inside an object at molecular level. When water is heated, it starts to show movement. This is because the heat provided to the water increases the energy of the water molecules due to which the random motion also increases.
Temperature is a measure of the average energy of the moving molecules in the substance. When you heat a body, you increase the vibrating energy of the molecular motion. Increase in vibrating energy leads to more collisions which results in increase in the temperature of the body.
