How are humans and animals depend on plants?

Only the plants can make food using sunlight, carbon dioxide, and water through the process called photosynthesis. All animals including humans either eat plants or the products obtained from the plants. Some animals are not directly dependent on plants. They eat animals that eat plants. Hence in one or the other way all animals are dependent on the plants for their food requirements. Plants also provide shelter to animals such as wild animals, birds, monkeys, etc.
