Involuntary actions are the actions of internal organs controlled by the medulla of the brain which is not necessarily in response to a stimulus.​ ​

Reflex actions are the actions controlled by the spinal cord and some parts of the brain that is in response to a stimulus received from the surroundings without involving the brain to think.​ ​
