Question

How are minerals absorbed by plants?

Open in App
Solution

The mineral salts are present in the form of electrically charged ions in the soil.
The mineral ions are absorbed by the root hairs using energy by the cytoplasm of the root cells.
Once ions are absorbed, the ions travel along with water in the xylem vessels and pass to the growing points of the plants where they are used for growth purpose.
