Dear student,
The difference between monocot and dicot is as follows:
1.In dicot seed, the embryo bears two cotyledons whereas in monocot it bears one cotyledon.
2.Leaves of dicot plant have reticulate venation whereas the monocot leaves have parallel venation.
3.Vascular bundle of dicot stem are open and arranged in a ring whereas in monocot they are closed and scattered.
4.The dicots have tap root system and monocots have adventitious root system.
5. Flowers are pentamerous in dicots which means they have five of each floral part whereas flowers are trimerous in monocots that is they have three of each floral parts.
