Mountains are useful to man in following ways:
(a) The mountains are a storehouse of water.
(b) Mountains serve as a source for many rivers.
(c) Reservoirs are made and the water is harnessed for the use of people.
(d)The river valleys and terraces formed by the rivers are ideal for cultivation of crops.
(e) Water from the mountains is also used for irrigation and generation of hydro-electricity.
(f) The forests found on the slopes of mountains provide fuel, fodder, shelter and other products like gum, raisins, etc.
(g) They provide an idyllic site for tourists.
