Solution
Neurons:
Neurons are fundamental units of the brain and nervous system.
These cells receive sensory input from the outside world.
Based on their electrophysiological traits, neurons can be classified as follows:
Burst or phasic - neurons that fire in bursts are phasic.
Tonic or regular spiking - some neurons are usually constantly active, e.g. the interneuron in the neurostriatum.
Thin-spike - Compared to others, the action potentials of some neurons are narrower, e.g. interneurons in the prefrontal cortex.
Fast Spiking - Some neurons are remarked for their fast firing rate,e.g. cells in the globus pallidus, and some types of cortical inhibitory interneurons.
