There is a circular relation between poverty and child labour. They have a cause-effect relationship. Child labour is both a cause as well as an effect of poverty.

Poverty often forces children to take part in child labour. This, in turn, will disallow the children from attaining education leaving them unemployable and therefore poor. Thus, this forms a vicious cycle.
