How are pteridophytes different from the phanerogams?
Pteridophytes are cryptogams which have hidden reproductive organs. They produce naked embryos called spores. They are the only cryptogams that have a simple vascular system. One example of pteridophyte- Marsilea.
Phanerogams, on the other hand, have well differentiated reproductive parts. They are seed bearing plants and have a complex vascular system. One example of phanerogam- Pine.
