?

Solution

Red tides are actually algal blooms (excessive growth of algae due to nutrient enrichment of a water body) which are predominated by a few red coloured species of dinoflagellates. It gives water red colouration, however, red tides are not always red. They may vary from brown to red in colour or may have no colour at all. Red tides have several harmful effects on aquatic animals.
