Open in App
Solution

Transpiration:

  1. Transpiration can be defined as the phenomenon in which water is lost through the aerial parts of the plants in the form of water vapor.

Stomata:

  1. Stomata are minute pores that are generally present on the lower surfaces of leaves which help in the process of gaseous exchange in plants.
  2. The stomata are generally, open during the daytime, which creates a transpirational pull, and water and minerals tend to move vertically upwards.
  3. These pores allow the entry of carbon dioxide which is necessary for the process of photosynthesis for the preparation of food in plants.
  4. In extremely hot weather or dry conditions, the stomata close to prevent excessive loss of water due to transpiration.
