Different separation techniques are present depending on the property of the substances to be separated
Sugar and sand can be removed by putting the mixture in water and then stirring it
Sugar will dissolve in water whereas sand will not
This mixture now can be poured into a filter paper, sand will be filtered which can be removed and sugar which is dissolved in the solution can be recovered using evaporation and crystallisation
We can heat the sugar solution and allow it to cool, and then crystals of sugar appeared.
So, first, use filtration by dissolving in water and then crystallisation or evaporation to separate sugar and sand.
