How are transparent soaps manufactured?

Open in App
Solution

Transparent soaps are made by dissolving the soap in ethanol and then evaporating the excess solvent. To make it transparent, the soap must be dissolved in enough solvent to make the crystals so small that light passes freely through, making the soap look transparent.

Additional information
  • Transparent soap is often known as glycerine soap.
  • An example of transparent soap is Pears.
