How blood helps in regulating the body temperature

Blood circulates in the body through blood vessels. During cold weather the blood vessels of the skin contract so that less blood flows through them and less heat is lost while in summers opposite happens, blood vessels expand to allow loss of heat and hence maintain the body temperature.
