Angular Analogue of Linear Momentum
How can a bod...
Question
How can a body moving in a straight line also posses angular momentum? This means total momentum acting on a body in a straight line is angular momentum + linear momentum?

Solution
When
a
body
seem
to
be
moving
in
a
straight
path
be
its
circular
path
is
of
very
large
radius
.
So
while
a
body
is
having
linear
motion
it
also
has
a
circular
motion
.
So
total
momentum
acting
on
the
body
is
the
sum
of
linear
momentum
and
angular
momentum
.
