AIDS:

  1. AIDS stands for Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome.
  2. AIDS is a highly infectious disease caused by a virus called HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus).
  3. When HIV enters the blood, it attacks the white blood cells and destroys the body's immune system.
  4. AIDS can spread through the transfusion of infected blood, sexual contact with a person infected with HIV, and sharing infected needles.
  5. It can also get transmitted through the placenta from an infected mother to a child.

Preventive measures for AIDS:

  1. Avoid sharing needles.
  2. Avoid sexual contact with multiple partners.
  3. Always use contraceptive methods like condom while having sex.
  4. Avoid transfusion of infected blood.
