As there is growing demand for natural resources and an increase in pollution problems, government is quite serious about conservation of environment. It views environmental resources as global public goods and strives for the conservation.
It has introduced a number of policies to protect nature some of them are
Environmental protection act 1986: it authorises to protect and improve environment quality and reduce pollution from all sources. It also restrict setting up of factories which proves dangerous to the environment.
The objective of Hazardous Waste 1989: it establishes rules to control generation of handling, collection, treatment, import, storage of hazardous waste.
Government policies alone cannot achieve progress in conservation of environment but it needs community support in every aspect.
Community should develop a feeling of oneness and protect not only his surroundings but the entire earth. Government policies have to be strictly followed to achieve what is known as the better world with low or no pollution.
