Question

how can greenhouse effect be prevented

Open in App
Solution

Green house effect is, the earth is heated by sunlight and some of the heat that is absorbed by the earth is radiated back into space. The gases responsible for this effect are called Greenhouse gases. Major greenhouse gases: carbon dioxide, water vapour, chlorofluorocarbons, methane and nitrous oxide. Among these carbondioxide is the most common and important greenhouse gas.
Green house effect can be prevented if

1. CO2 level can be decreased by drastic cut in the consumption of fossil fuels.
2. There should be a restriction on the emission of dangerous CO2 and CFC’s from the factories and automobiles.
3. Among other measures adopted are the use of unleaded petrol, catalytic converters in new cars, and antipollution devices in buses and industrial plants.
4. Enhancing forestation will certainly reduce the CO2 level thereby decreasing the greenhouse effect. As trees are the big natural sink of CO2 they can utilize CO2 during photo synthesis.
