How can plants make food without light?(Hydrothermal vents discovered in 1970's create a food chain independent of sunlight)

There are some bacterias (chemoautotrophic) in hydrothermal vents which do not need light and use chemical energy to make food. But, plants are photoautotrophic only as they require light only.
