How can prokaryotes live without a nucleus?

Open in App
Solution

Prokaryotes:

  1. They are organisms which do not have proper cellular organization i.e they lack cellular organelles and a nucleus.
  2. They include the bacteria in this group.
  3. Though these cells do not have a nucleus they do have DNA or RNA in them.
  4. These genetic materials present in the cell helps in the different function of the cell.
  5. They help in replication as well as carry genetic material.
  6. In prokaryotes, the DNA is arranged in the irregular-shaped region known as the nucleoid.
  7. Hence we can say that the prokaryotes can survive without a nucleus.
