how can sound of the sun and the earth be heard if there is no medium for the sound to travel

Dear student, This is because we assume air in-between sun and earth. The space between Earth and Sun is filled with uniform air. It basically means we are ignoring the gravitational effects of both Sun and Earth. Regards
