• When copper metal $\left(\mathrm{Cu}\right)$ reacts with sulfuric acid $\left({\mathrm{H}}_2{\mathrm{SO}}_4\right)$, it produces copper sulfate $\left({\mathrm{CuSO}}_4\right)$, water $\left({\mathrm{H}}_2\mathrm{O}\left(\mathrm{l}\right)\right)$ and sulfur dioxide gas $\left({\mathrm{SO}}_2\left(\mathrm{g}\right)\right)$.
