Question

How can we calculate molality of pure water if it's density is 0.936gm/ml?

Open in App
Solution

How to find molality of pure water

There are 55.346 moles in 1 liter of pure water.
This is calculated by dividing the density of water, which is 997.07 grams per liter, by the molecular mass of water, which is 18.02 grams per mole.

So molality when density is 997.07 will be
=mol water/kg water

=55.346mols/0.99707kg
=55.5 {molality of pure water}

In our question density given is .936gm/ml replace the value of density
