How can we correlate applied history with our present?

Open in App
Solution

Explanation:
  • Explain relics
  • Explain heritage
  • How applied history works with preservation and conservation
Answer:
The surviving historical objects work as memorials of the past and are called Relics. The visible and invisible relics of the past such as sculptures, paintings, oral traditions etc. exist in the present and create curiosity for the past. Collectively such remains of the past represent our heritage as thoughts and traditions of the ancestors. The heritage from the past becomes identity in the present and links us with our origin.

Applied history works for the preservation and conservation of heritage. Making heritage accessible to public works for the benefit of present as well as future generations. For example, heritage management creates employment opportunities and knowledge from historical objects and traditions can be applied to different contemporary fields like Science, Indian classical dance and music.
