Question

How can we describe Indian climate as monsoon type?

Open in App
Solution

The Indian climate is monsoon type because most of India gets up to 90% of rainfall during a rainy season that lasts for about three to four months. During this season, which is from June to September, rain bearing winds called monsoon winds blow over India from the Indian Ocean leading to rainfall all over the country. Most of the other months are predominantly dry in most parts of India. This is the characteristic of the monsoon type of climate.
