How can we improve the success rate of fertilization during artificial insemination in animal husbandry programmes?

To improve success rate of fertilization, Multiple Ovulation Embryo Transfer Technique (MOET) is used. In this procedure, a cow is administered with an FSH- like activity hormone, to induce follicular maturation and super- ovulation. Then the animal is either mated or inseminated. The fertilized eggs are then transferred to a surrogate mother at 8- 32 celled stage. This frees the mother for another round of super- ovulation.
