We know that the efficiency of the heat engine is given by the formula:

$\eta =1-\left(\frac{T_L}{T_H}\right)$

Where, $\eta$ is the efficiency of the engine.

$T_L$ is the temperature of the cold sink

$T_H$ is the temperature of the hot source

Hence, the efficiency of the heat engine can be increased by decreasing the temperature of the cold sink or increasing the temperature of the hot source.
