How can you determine the melting point?

Melting point- The temperature at which a solid converts to a liquid is called the melting point

To determine the melting point:

• Take a transparent glass beaker.
• Place a laboratory thermometer suspended such that it remains at the center.
• fill the beaker with IceCube, note the temperature of the thermometer and observe the temperature at every minute.
• You will observe that the initial ice temperature is much below zero degrees celsius.
• The temperature slowly starts rising to reach zero degrees celsius we found that some water collected at the bottom.
• the temperature remains zero-till all ice gets converted into the water.
• note down that temperature as for melting point.
