Diseases which can spread from one person to another are called communicable diseases. For example: Chickenpox, mumps.

Prevention of spread of communicable diseases:

The spread of communicable diseases can be prevented by

  • covering the mouth and nose with a handkerchief while sneezing or coughing to prevent the release of droplets in the air
  • wearing face masks
  • washing hands before and after having food
  • avoid sharing personal belongings like apparels, face masks, razors, etc.
  • keeping the recommended vaccinations up-to-date.
