How can you tell whether a particular material is magnetic or nonmagnetic?

  1. Materials can be classified based on their response towards a magnet.
  2. If the material gets attracted toward a magnet then it is known as magnetic material.
  3. If the material does not get attracted toward a magnet then it is called a nonmagnetic material.
  4. Some examples of magnetic materials are iron, coin, nails, etc. and examples of nonmagnetic materials are plastic, wood, paper, etc.
