The Constitution drew attention to Dalits in following ways :
1. Untouchability was abolished and its practice in any form forbidden by the Constitution.It is a punishable offence.
2.Constitution guaranteed reservation in Education to the Dalits.
3.Constitution also made reservations for Dalits in the government jobs so that they can enter the sphere of the middle class.
4.Forced labour or bonded labour is a punishable offence, the Ministry of Labor is running a Centrally Sponsored Scheme for identification, liberation and rehabilitation of bonded labor.
