The Delhi Sultanate started in 1192 A.D. Its territorial expansion went beyond North India. Qutbuddin Aibak who was the first sultan of Delhi conquered large areas of northern India. Khilji conquered most part of Central India. Tughlaq extended his capital to the Deccan Plateau. The area of Delhi to Benaras was under the Influence of the Lodi dynasty.
