Solution

Gandhi ji integrated the depressed classes by opposing the introduction of separate electorates for the depressed class as he believed that these electorates will divide the Hindu society on the basis of caste and it is not good for a society based on unity and brotherhood. He began a fast unto death in September 1932 to oppose the separate electorate. This led to a combine effort of all the caste to save the life of Gandhi ji who was trying to save the unity of the Hindu society. This fast came to an end with the signing of Poona pact wherein the demand of separate electorates were withdrawn and it was agreed that depressed classes will contest under the joint electorates.
After this also Gandhi ji tried to integrate the depressed classes by meeting people from depressed classes in jail and also planned a campaign from jail to integrate them in Hindu society.
